The 2 Secret, cheapest steps to your own wholesale, drop shipping, eBay business!

Online Business 101

eBay, website, auctions etc. Basically, you have the online fever and you want a piece of the action! Gotcha! I don't blame you, it is nice but there is so much you shouldn't do that others are trying to get you to do. Mainly because they are trying to get more of your money. Hey, it's the business world...that's how it works.

Ready? I'm going to tell you the best, easiest, cheapest and MOST effective way for you to get going.

First....forget a website. Trust me on this. I don't care what anyone tells you. When it comes to selling on a website, it costs money from the start and can get very technical. You have to design a site or pay someone to do it for you then you have to market it and advertise it which is a WHOLE new ball game in itself. You should only consider building a website if you have already proven your product to sell on ebay and are comfortable enough to take this next step. Basically, get your business started and established first. Know your market and what product sells before you consider taking the website approach. If you do already have a website and have invested some time and money, don't worry. If you have sold some stuff with it, keep working. If you haven't sold anything with the site, that's your hint to put it on hold and go down to step#1 first.

Second.....forget the fancy computers, hardware and programs. Forget the microphones, video screens and all that jazz. You don't need them now. I still use an old Compaq 400Mhz computer for everything I do. I do plan to upgrade soon but since I see no immediate need, I just can't part with the money yet.

Third.....forget buying any product right now unless you already know you have a sure fire deal or something just to cheap to pass up. Again, experience comes into play here. If you are not 100% sure....don't buy anything yet.

Step #1- Go set up your own ebay account if you haven't already done so. It doesn't cost you a thing to set it up. eBay is THE best place to start because they have basically already done the advertising for you. They already have the "hungry fish" just swimming around the website ready to buy. All you need to do is feed them the right bait. Set up your account and spend a few minutes getting familiar with the tools. They also have some great getting started tutorials. Actually I have a direct link to a video back on the homepage.

Step #2- Get something to sell...without buying anything!! What? That's right. Go look around your house, in your attic, call your friend, brother or sister, anyone you know to find some old stuff that you really wanted to get rid of. You may luck into something good but it really doesn't matter. The point is to get something to list on ebay, not to see if it sells or not but to get familiar with the general sales process. This will help you get familiar with listing something, describing it, and what happens when the auction ends. You simply must be familiar with how it works before you can even think of investing in some product.

MISTAKE #!- I've seen TOO many new people, buy some products, they know nothing about, set up and ebay account, plaster the crap on there and then bitch and moan because nothing sold. Listen, would you let your car mechanic give you a root canal just because he told you he saw this really neat show about dentists on TV the other night? Of course you wouldn't. If you saw the same TV show that night would you call your best friend and tell them you'd like to put a filling in that bum tooth they've been complaining about? I don't think so. Then why in the world would you buy tens or hundreds or even thousands of dollars of product you know nothing about and stick it on ebay and even begin to think you would expect it to sell? Why, because your next door neighbor read some stupid email that said "Any Joe Six-pack can make millions online, without any skills at all? Uh-Huh

Back to step 2. OK gather up as much stuff as you can, as long as no money has come out of your pocket, it doesn't matter. If it sells...GREAT, you've crossed your first big hurdle. If not, no big deal. You do this a few times until you feel comfortable enough to move up a little. Who knows...you may get a direct line on so much local stuff that you don't need to buy anything for a while. If this is the case then use it too your advantage and use any spare time to browse through all the listings to make notes of the stuff you are interested in.

TIP:I know of alot of people who did step #2 and many of their friends and family started asking them to list stuff of theirs on ebay. They did for either a commission or paid the person a little and kept whatever profit came from it. This alone can be very lucrative.

TIP2: This also spawns of another key idea many people do. You can go to your local garage and yard sales and find some darn good stuff for little or nothing and bring it home and put it on ebay. Again, I know of many people that do just that.

Well....that's it! I'm sorry if it was too cut and dry or to the point. I'm sorry if I didn't dazzle you with a treasure trove, outlandish ideas but this is it and I'm here to tell it like it is!
